Hi guys, this is my private blog about my cars that I own. My first BMW was a late 1997 E36 318iS Coupe in wonderful Avus blau metallic paint. I bought the car in April 2008 and sold it in June 2011. It was one of
best cars I ever had. The options list was quite short. It didn't have a air-condition so it was little bit hot in it in summer time :) But it was quite light and agile, and after few mods on the suspension, very tail happy. The engine was only a 4-cylinder 1.9 displacement with 103kw and somewhat 180Nm of torque. The car wasn't quick but still fun to drive. I definitely fell in love with BMW's after owning this car. There something very unique about the way how BMW drives. The rear wheel drive and the near perfect 50:50 weight split is only a part of that. All E36's were great driving cars. After I've sold this car I moved to E46s. I needed more space so I picked the Touring version. My 1st E46 Touring was a early 2003 330d with automatic transmission. It was chipped by the previous owner to nearly 170kw and 500Nm of torques. It was quite different from the reeving 318is. The 330d had power anytime and anywhere and it was pulling like a train. Suddenly after a year of owning that torque locomotive I started to miss the stick and the sound of a gasoline engine. The straight six with a proper manual was always my dream, so I've sold my 330d and bought a early 2003 325i Touring. Yep I did not have so much power as the previous car, but still it was more fun to drive. The best thing was the engine note. R6 petrol sounded like heaven and once it was above 4000rpm, it
it was simply music to my ears. I wanted to keep the car as new, so I started restoring it. New tires, new shocks, new vanos seals, new oil separator and crankcase breather. So you are probably asking now, why did I sold it than and bought again a four-banger diesel? Let me explain. Although the 325i was a nice car with decent gas mileage, I needed a wagon that was capable doing slightly more mpg. Yep the specs of 325i were not that bad but I drive a lot....so it was for obvious reasons. And the another thing was, I started to miss the torque punch from the good old turbo diesel. The 325i was a great motor with 141kw and 245Nm of torque but it was normally aspirated. That's great fun but usually I use my car nowadays to move from point A to move to point B. The criteria changed and I bought a late 2003 320d Touring with a six speed manual. I must say, it is not the most refined engine, but I'm again in love with diesel. This car the 320d was again chipped by the previous owner to 126kw and 380Nm of torque. Its enough for city driving, trust me :) Although not as fast as 325i, the car definitely feels stronger, thanks to the turbocharger. Ok guys, that's all for now. Excuse my bad English, I'm not a native speaker, so that's why the simple form of this blog. I am not going to promote of publish this blog nowhere, it's just for my personal needs, but I decided to use English if someone accidentally gets here, so he or she knows what's up. :) hahaha Ok bye for now. If any updates will come. I will post them here as usuall. Feel free to click also the next links to see my E46 cars. Best regards, mye46.blogger.com
